Pitztal Glacier Cable Car Sponsors “Cyprian”
By sponsoring the first ibex kid born at the Ibex Center, the Pitztal Glacier Railway is supporting the center’s work. The young ibex was given the traditional Pitztal name “Cyprian.”
On June 27, 2021, an ibex kid was born for the first time at the Ibex Center in St. Leonhard im Pitztal. The young ibex is the first offspring born since the Ibex Center opened in 2020 and represents a special milestone for the facility.
The Pitztal Glacier Cable Car has sponsored the young ibex and named it “Cyprian,” a name that was once widely used in the Pitztal. This sponsorship underscores the cable car’s close ties to the Ibex Center, the nature park region, and the ibex as the symbolic animal of the Pitztal.
The Ibex Center is dedicated to the history of the ibex as well as the relationship between people, nature, and culture in the Alpine region. With the support of regional partners, educational programs, outreach efforts, and the long-term development of the center can be further strengthened.
